Building High-Thrill, High-Impact Slides at Daytona Lagoon
Daytona Lagoon, a leading family waterpark in Florida, revitalized its offerings by adding a vibrant four-lane racing slide called "Kraken’s Revenge." The project began by assessing the park’s available tower footprint and choosing a design that maximized both capacity and thrills within a constrained site. Detailed planning ensured each lane offered a smooth flow, a high-speed tunnel entry, and a straight finish—providing fair competition and repeat fun for all ages.
Manufacturing used modular fiberglass segments constructed to withstand Florida’s sun, salt air, and heavy seasonal volume. The slides were precision-engineered off-site and assembled atop a steel support tower, with the unique addition of translucent skylight rings in the tunnel to create a time-warp light effect for riders. Installation involved careful segment joining, waterproofing, and multi-phase safety checks prior to public opening.
Daytona Lagoon’s mat racer slide is a major draw—giving guests a thrilling, visually stunning experience in the heart of Daytona Beach. The project highlights how smart planning, innovative features, and attention to durability can create an iconic, guest-pleasing waterpark centerpiece that stands out in a competitive tourist market.
